Welcome to the website of Timothy Craig Harrison.

I am delighted with the success of my new work The Risen Christ.  Since my early youth I have been deeply moved by the work of the internationally renowned Durham-based sculptor Fenwick Lawson. Fenwick's remarkable sculptures seem to me to evolve spontaneously from the wood with which he works. It was, therefore, a particular joy that this artist, who I have admired for so many years, should agree to collaborate with me and the superb choir Palatinate Voices, conducted by Keith Wright, with Philip Watson (percussion) on a new work. The Risen Christ is a  dramatic and theatrical work, which lasts for about 30 minutes. It is inspired by five of Fenwick's most powerful sculptures: The Condemned, The Weeping Women, The Hostage, The Scream and The Burning Bush. It received its premiere on May 17th in the beautiful surroundings of St Cuthbert's Chapel, Ushaw College, in the presence of Fenwick Lawson. You can listen to an mp3 recording of the premiere of The Risen Christ here.  The file is large so I have split it into three parts. To find out more about this work and to read some of the newspaper reviews, please follow this link The Risen Christ.

In a brillaint recital given as part of the Ushaw College bicentenary concert series, Emma Gibbins gave a sparkling account of my most recent organ work, Christe qui Lux es et Dies. Emma, who collaborated with me in the writing of it, and to whom the work is dedicated, has performed  Christe qui Lux es et Dies many times since its premiere at St Marylebone parish church, London  on Saturday 13th October 2007 at the Annual Festival of New Organ Music.  You can listen to Emma playing it on the organ of St Michael and All Angels, Croydon if you follow the link on the right hand side of this page. The file is in two parts. You can also read all about Christe qui Lux es et Dies by following the link here Christe qui Lux es et Dies premiere
